Guy from L.A. tells his short religious story about Barsana DhamI have tremendous love and respect for Barsana Dham. It is an inspiration not only to myself, but to the Indian community in Austin, and truly the Indian community in America. I can vouch for this because there is no temple or ashram like this in one in California where I live. Thus, I travel at least 3 times a year to Texas from California just to partake in the festive and tranquil atmospheres that the Ashram provides.

Anyone who has a desire for God or spirituality will feel comfortable in Barsana Dham. It is open to all which is seen by the fact that all races are present there. The teachings they discuss are universal and apply to anyone irrespective of culture, ethnic background etc.

Many people go there for the great religious celebrations that provide the true feelings of participating in India, however, I like to go there on off times, when there are less people. This helps me to get away from the fast paced life of work, traffic and the city; it is an escape for me. Without this one of a kind ashram, my life would be completely out of balance; the ashram provides a "recharge" to my life. Most importantly it reminds me of what my purpose in life actually is; to serve God and humanity.
